Nyctanthes Arbor Tristis

Also known as Parijat, Nyctanthes Arbor Tristis are similar to Jasmine in appearance and are often referred to as the night-flowering jasmines. They too have small white flowers with a tantalising aroma. Distinctively, Parijats have bright orange stems contrasting with white petals. This beautiful plant that can be seen blooming from August to November has some medicinal values and can be used to cure many diseases. Planting parijat is always a good pick since they're not just fragrant, but also attractive looking. 

Fun fact- Parijats also have medicinal properties and are used in Ayurveda to treat 
sciatica and arthritis.

Gardenia (Cape Jasmine)

Native to tropical regions of South Asia, Australia, and Africa, Gardenia is a member of the coffee family. These shrubs have a unique and powerful scent, most intense during rains. When the wet wind blows, it comes out with a lustful fragrance. Named after the Scottish botanist Alexander Garden, these are popularly known as “Gandharaj” in India, which literally translates to ‘king of fragrances’. Cestrum Nocturnum

The evergreen flowering bush that grows in any climate also called raat ki raani, is the nocturnal beauty that mesmerizes you with its fragrance. Plumeria

Nandyarvattam

This tree-like evergreen shrub with white flowers is native to India. Its scientific name is Tabernaemontana Divaricata and is commonly known as Crape Jasmine. Nandyarvattam’s single-flower form (often referred to as pinwheel flower) is unscented while the double-flowered form has a pleasant aroma. Used for medicinal purposes in Ayurveda, these delicate silky white blossoms are now cultivated throughout South-East Asia and the other warmer regions of continental Asia.

Lavender

Out of the 47 species of Lavender, Lavandin Lavender is the most famous one. They are one of the very few plants that have fragrant leaves as well as flowers. Native to Europe, Northern, and Eastern Africa, Southwest Asia, China, and Southeast India, many members of the lavender family are cultivated in temperate climates. Lavenders are used as an ornamental plant, a culinary herb, and for the extraction of essential oils.
